Job Description

Workman’s Recruitment is partnering with a highly regarded, long-established social housing contractor that has been trading for 80 years. They specialise in servicing long-term and unique planned capital works, cyclical decorations, major works, and retrofit schemes for some of the largest housing associations and councils across the UK

As a Driver/Labourer, you will be responsible for safely transporting materials, equipment, and personnel to and from construction sites. Your role involves ensuring timely deliveries, maintaining vehicle safety and cleanliness, and supporting on-site logistics to help keep projects running smoothly and on schedule.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the yard and storage areas in a clean, orderly, and organised manner
  • Adhere to the company’s Quality, Health & Safety, and Environmental protocols
  • Communicate any recommended improvements to the Contracts Director or SHEQ Advisor
  • Schedule deliveries and collections to align with project deadlines
  • Maintain equipment standards, coordinating repairs or disposals when necessary
  • Participate in meetings with supervisors or clients to facilitate project progress
  • Verify site equipment against inventory lists and document findings

Requirements:

  • Full UK Manual Driving License
  • Strong face-to-face customer service experience
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Strong time management and organisational skills
  • Basic IT proficiency

Working Hours:

  • Monday – Friday
  • 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • 1 Hour Lunch Break
  • 40 hours per week
